The lack of components from Asia has once again halted production at the Stellantis Figueruelas factory. As the company informed its workers yesterday, the afternoon and night shifts on line 2, where the Opel Corsa is assembled, have been cancelled for this Thursday . Thus, only the morning shift has been operational.
In addition, the morning and afternoon shifts are cancelled for this Friday , and in view of the weekend, the night shift on Sunday, October 6th.
In turn, the lack of supplies is expected to continue stopping the plant’s production in the coming week, in the middle of the Fiestas del Pilar, and several shifts have been cancelled : Monday, October 7, morning and afternoon; Thursday, October 10, afternoon and evening, Friday, October 11, morning and afternoon, and Sunday, October 13, evening.
As confirmed by union sources, they hope that line 2 will be back to normal as of next Sunday and have assured that the strikes have not affected line 1 (where the Peugeot 208 and the Lancia Ypsilon are assembled), which will continue to work normally in the morning and afternoon shifts.
