The mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, met this Tuesday with Emir Pineda, director of development at Miami International Airport, and Jan Krems, vice president of United Airlines, to explore potential avenues for collaboration that would strengthen commercial and strategic ties between the Aragonese capital and the American city. Also present at the meeting were the Minister of Economy and Digital Transformation, Carlos Gimeno, and the Director General of Major Projects, Chema Ruiz de Temiño.
This contact builds on the relationships initiated during the mayor’s institutional and trade mission to the United States in 2025 , during which Zaragoza strengthened its international presence. As part of this strategy, the city participated in the third edition of the WTE Miami “International Travel and Tourism Expo ,” held on September 18 and 19, the leading tourism event in the eastern United States and a key meeting point for the Latin American market.
During the fair, which was attended by the manager of Zaragoza Tourism, José Francisco García, the city’s main new developments for 2025 and 2026 were presented . This international showcase highlighted Zaragoza as a heritage, cultural, gastronomic, and experiential destination, reinforcing its position in the US market and opening new opportunities for tourism and economic collaboration.
