The Government of Aragon has awarded €18,572,484 in aid from its 2025 agri-food industry support plan, which will benefit 71 companies . The call for proposals, which has fulfilled all eligible applications, reinforces public support for one of the key sectors of the Aragonese economy.

This funding, combined with that provided in 2024, brings the total regional support for the agri-food industry to over €34 million . In total, this effort will mobilize more than €228 million in investments aimed at modernization, competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability within the sector.

SUPPORT DISTRIBUTED ACROSS THE ENTIRE TERRITORY AND SECTORS

The call for applications has received an outstanding response from Aragonese businesses. All 71 companies that achieved the minimum required score and met the established criteria have received the funding, with no valid application being rejected due to budget constraints.

The total amount awarded is €18,572,484 , representing almost the full disbursement of the allocated funds. By province, the aid is distributed among 34 companies in Zaragoza, 27 in Huesca, and 10 in Teruel.

By sector , the largest volume corresponds to fruit and vegetables and processed vegetables , with €5,159,204.22 (27.78%), followed by meat, with €3,110,196.70 (16.75%), and cereals, flours, and animal feed, with €2,965,185.29 (15.97%). Other agri-food sectors also stand out, with €2,551,879.21 (13.74%), as does pet food, with €978,190.61 (5.27%).

The distribution is completed by animal by-products (€949,259.09; 5.11%), sweets and pastries (€788,272.25; 4.24%), nuts (€647,105.43; 3.48%), eggs (€503,770.67; 2.71%), wine (€358,935.84; 1.93%), dairy products (€301,261.77; 1.62%), honey (€159,227.95; 0.86%), and wastewater treatment/environmental services (€99,994.97; 0.54%). These figures reinforce the comprehensive and balanced nature of the Department’s support .

This approach was already applied in the 2024 call , endowed with more than 16 million euros, in which the budget was also increased to ensure that all companies that met the criteria could access the financing.

“Our commitment is clear: to support the agri-food industry throughout Aragon and to do so with safety and certainty for businesses ,” stated Amparo Cuéllar, Director General of Innovation and Food Promotion. “This investment effort and this territorial balance reflect the strategic importance of the agri-food industry for the Government of Aragon,” she added.

INVESTMENT BALANCE AND IMPACT ON THE SECTOR

The aid will benefit projects in all three provinces and across a wide range of subsectors , from the meat and fruit and vegetable industries to the processing of cereals, nuts, animal feed, wines and processed products.

With this resolution, the Department concludes a positive balance sheet for the last two aid programs for the agri-food industry, which total nearly €35 million and mobilize a total of €126 million. Adding the €102 million from the previous year, the total investment exceeds €228 million in just two years.
