One of the Spanish passengers repatriated after the hantavirus outbreak detected on a cruise ship has tested provisionally positive in the PCR test carried out upon arrival at the Gómez Ulla Hospital in Madrid, where he remains isolated along with the rest of the Spanish travelers.
According to sources at the Ministry of Health, the patient presented with a low-grade fever and respiratory symptoms last night. “At present, he appears to be stable and shows no evident clinical deterioration,” the Ministry stated. A PCR test was performed upon his arrival at the Madrid hospital, where he remains in isolation along with the other Spanish passengers.
The other 13 Spanish passengers on that cruise ship have so far tested negative.
