The arrival of good weather this spring has significantly reduced the skiable area at Spanish resorts, which this weekend totaled 551.8 kilometers available, compared to 763 the previous weekend, according to data from the Tourist Association of Ski and Mountain Resorts (Atudem).
In Aragon, the Cerler and Panticosa resorts , both in the Huesca Pyrenees, stand out with a total of 63 kilometers of skiable terrain, currently among the largest in the country. Also in Huesca, the Astún and Candanchú ski resorts maintain 15.5 kilometers of slopes open , resisting the effects of rising temperatures.
By comparison, Baqueira Beret (Lérida) leads the national ranking with 105 kilometers available. It is followed by Sierra Nevada (Granada) with 88; Masella (Girona) with 57; Boi Taüll (Lérida) with 40; La Molina (Girona) with 34; and others such as Port Ainé, Valdesquí, and Espot Esquí, with smaller numbers.
Among those that barely maintain activity are Vall de Nuria (6 kilometers), Valdezcaray (2.1), La Covatilla (900 meters) or Madrid Snowzone, with its 2.1 kilometers of indoor track.
