The Vice President of the regional government, Mar Vaquero, defended this Tuesday at the TIDe Summit – Technology Integration for Digital Evolution, held in Cairo (Egypt), the enormous opportunities that the community has for receiving investments and also for the export of goods and services produced here thanks to the good work of the business community in the region.
“Aragon has everything to help you achieve success in your business projects,” stressed Azcón’s deputy at the round table “Connecting economies: investment opportunities in Egypt and Spain,” said Azcón’s deputy, who was accompanied by the Minister of Investment, Hassan El Khatib, the president of the Federation of Egyptian Industry, Mohamed Zaki El Sewedy, the Spanish ambassador to Egypt, Álvaro Iranzo, the president of the Egyptian-Spanish Business Council, Maged El Menshawy, and the CEO and chairman of the Board of Directors of El Sewedy Electrometer Group, Emad El Sewedy.
THE AVAILABILITY OF ARAGON
When describing the potential of our community, Mar Vaquero alluded to the availability of “large” land and the existence of a multitude of spaces that “can be adapted to any type of project.” She also highlighted the social peace that has been maintained for 35 years, which allows for “the establishment of the ideal ecosystem for the needs of entrepreneurs and workers” and the “full willingness” of the government to assist businesses.
“We want to be your help, not a hindrance,” he emphasized. During his speech, he emphasized the importance of ” efficiency ” as an “inexcusable principle” for the Government. To achieve this, he specified that they are making available to companies the Investment Accelerator Unit, instruments such as declarations of interest and interest plans , and also an Executive “committed to promoting and encouraging investment, job creation, and wealth creation.”
And he hasn’t forgotten the talent of the community’s men and women, who “put it at the service of the business projects being developed in Zaragoza, Huesca, and Teruel.” “We can offer excellence to current generations and those yet to come, as we offer them the best training to meet the needs of the region’s business community,” he added.
IT’S ARAGON’S TIME
“Aragon has established itself as one of the most prosperous, dynamic, and attractive regions on the Old Continent.” The Vice President was emphatic when it came to selling the region’s opportunities as an investment destination. She assured them that “they will find an innovative, resilient, and forward-thinking environment.”
To support this statement, he referred to the more than €47 billion in investments announced in the last 18 months, led by, among others, the world’s most relevant technology giants such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, by companies in the automotive sector such as Stellantis, and also by companies with Aragonese parent companies that are also committed to their growth through large-scale investments to “diversify their activity, adapt to new times, and explore new areas of activity that will shape our future.”
Vaquero also recalled that Aragon is already a leading technology hub in Europe thanks to the exponential growth of the sector, which is also helped by The Wave technology congress and the future construction of the Alierta Aragonese Technology District, which will be “the epicenter of innovation and the future of our region,” thanks also to the construction of a “reference ecosystem” with Walqa and Technopark.
THE FUTURE: THE AUTOMOBILE AND MUCH MORE
In his review of Aragon’s distinctive features, he also highlighted the “strength of the industrial fabric,” with an automotive sector “destined to continue leading the way in the coming decades.” He also mentioned its logistical potential, making the region a “privileged location” for the distribution of goods across five continents.
And he alluded to the Aragonese agri-food sector, based on “the values that made it great decades ago in the primary sector” and which has been able to “evolve to mechanize its processes, generate added value in its own territory, and offer some of the most recognized products to tables around the world.”
Finally, he alluded to the future. A future marked by a commitment to other sectors that “will help further diversify our economy.” As an example of both, he cited the aerospace and defense sector, where avenues for collaboration between the two territories are already being explored.
