More than 20 years on stage prove that Melody is no ordinary artist, but a true diva recognized all of Europe since she arrived in Basel, Switzerland, a few days ago to participate in the great music festival that is
Eurovision. However, despite Melody’s overwhelming support from Eurofans and the general public, the voting once again left Spain in a position far from what many believe the singer from Dos Hermanas, Seville, would have deserved.

The Eurovision 2025 final was marked not only by the performance of the Spanish representative, but also by the
firm stance of Spain and other countries such as Belgium regarding the conflict in Gaza. In addition to the comments made by Tony Aguilar and Julia Varela on RTVE during the semi-finals during Israel’s performance, this Saturday a message on a black background was added at the beginning of the broadcast that read:
“In the face of human rights, silence is not an option. Peace and justice for Palestine.”

Melody, with her song “Esa Diva ,” gave a vibrant and energetic performance, notable for her staging and message of empowerment . She appeared comfortable and confident on stage, so much so that she performed another pirouette with one of her dancers and even did her signature hair-twirling routine in excitement.

Despite her dedication, Spain finished second to last with 37 points —curiously, a figure the singer herself joked about a few days ago in a viral video. After the gala, Melody expressed her pride in the performance and emphasized the value of art and music as tools of expression, although she announced that, true to her “sincerity ,” she would speak about her thoughts on the matter in the coming days.

AUSTRIA, THE BIG WINNER

Israel , in fact, came close to winning thanks to the televote , ultimately finishing in second place. The votes of the professional jury had given a greater advantage to the eventual winner of the night: Austria. Represented by countertenor JJ with the song “Wasted Love,” a fusion of opera and urban rhythms that won over the professional jury, they earned a total of 436 points.

The staging, designed by Spanish artists, stood out for its black and white aesthetic. Israel, with the ballad “New Day Will Rise” performed by Yuval Raphael , finished in second place after sweeping the televote.
