The Aragonese Technology District (DAT) Alierta took a firm step toward its consolidation this Tuesday, with the announcement of what will be the first multinational to set up shop in this iconic building. Siemens, ”
a catalyst for other multinationals to see that the interest in this space is real“, emphasized the President of the Aragonese Government, Jorge Azcón , after his meeting with the President of Siemens Spain, Fernando Silva.
For his part, Silva stated that the company “wants to be at the center of the innovative ecosystem being built in Aragon, as it is a prime destination for investments linked to the digital transformation process that the autonomous community is undergoing given its unbeatable industrial and logistical conditions“.
Siemens will occupy part of the business building that will make up this Technology Park. The Aragonese Institute for Development has launched an ideas competition to design this building, one of the most important in this DAT, which will have 6,500 square meters of office space and 1,500 square meters of communal areas. The cost of the building’s construction will amount to €16.5 million.
THE BUILDING HAS HAD TO EXPAND ITS SIZE
“The building had to be designed larger than initially planned, and this is due to the high demand this project could have,” the President of Aragon stated, adding that “this space will be absolutely unique in our autonomous community and in the northeast of our country.”
The leader of the Aragonese government has announced that “before the end of July, the DIGA (Division of General Administration of Technology) for this Technology District will be approved by the Government of Aragon ,” which will mean that “the related procedures will be able to accelerate their processing speed .”
This Technology Park project was presented at the first edition of The Wave , which took place in May 2024. As President Azcón pointed out, “in just over a year we have presented the Master Plan, we have announced the expansion of some of the buildings that already comprise it and the investment of 20 million euros for the arrival of Circe to the DAT Alierta, as well as the tendering of the building that will house the specialized Vocational Training studies in the technology sector.”
