Visiting museums until midnight, staying up all night with a cultural theme, and experiencing a night unlike any other will once again be possible with the celebration of Zaragoza ‘s now traditional White Night on June 28th. This major nighttime cultural celebration will bring cultural offerings for all audiences and a major new development: the celebration will take place in the city’s main squares —Plaza del Pilar, Plaza Salamero, Plaza San Bruno, Plaza Santa Engracia, and Plaza Aragón—which will host free cultural offerings. All of this aims to bring culture even closer to the public.
The “ Plazas en blanco ” programme includes Milonga, with the El Garage Tango Association (8:30 pm, Plaza de Salamero), and family shows such as “Bromas dulces como la miel” by Producciones Kinser (9:30 pm, Plaza de San Bruno), the cachiporra puppets of “Aventuras de Pelegrín” by Teatro Arbolé (9:30 pm, Plaza Santa Engracia) or the travelling show where K de Calle’s “Árboles” come to life (10:30 pm, Plaza del Pilar).
An improvised urban dance battle, ” Maf Battle, ” will be held in Plaza Aragón (9:45 p.m.), a perfect experience for discovering urban culture and unleashing dance, promoting emerging talent and social inclusion.
The Plaza del Pilar, at the Goya Fountain, will host a powerful symphonic pop and rock concert by Grupo Talía . At 8:30 p.m., the audience will enjoy a musical journey with a selection ranging from the greatest Italian and French melodic songs to the legendary hits of ABBA, not to mention Spanish music and hits that have made bands like The Beatles, Queen, and Bee Gees, among others, successful.
During the Noche en Blanco (White Night), Espacio Xior will continue its “Verano en Xior” (Summer at Xior) program, which includes summer cinema and screenings such as “La niña de la cabra” (The Girl with the Goat) (10:00 p.m.). At Harinera ZGZ, the Trio Contracanto will take a journey through European classical music through compositions by Strauss, Schubert, and Bottesini (7:30 p.m.). This special evening also coincides with the program of the Trayectos International Dance Festival, which will feature contemporary dance performances and a street party on Saturday on Moret Street (starting at 8:00 p.m.).
MUSEUMS OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT
White Night also offers the opportunity to discover Zaragoza’s museums outside of their usual opening hours, which are extended until midnight. The museums also offer musical and artistic performances as a complement to the visits.
Municipal venues such as La Lonja, the Centro de Historias (including the Origami Museum), and the Fire and Firefighters Museum are also participating in this established cultural event with extended hours and free activities. Cultural venues from other institutions and organizations, such as the Iaacc Pablo Serrano, the Aljafería Palace, CaixaForum, the Museum of Natural Sciences and the University of Zaragoza Auditorium, and the Ibercaja Foundation, among others, are also joining in. All of them have scheduled visits and activities with a more original and surprising focus for this evening.
Doorbreaker returns to museums
The young team resident at the municipal museums ” Rompepuertas ” has designed a series of activities throughout the Caesaraugusta Route that will allow you to refresh the White Night with proposals that focus on young talent and a variety of artistic disciplines in contact with the historical and artistic heritage.
Rompepuertas’ proposals for 2025 include a showcase of young bands from the city in Plaza San Felipe, with a DJ session by Club Classics’ Donna & the Dynamos, and a musical bingo; a Young Art Fair will be held at the Caesaraugusta Theater Museum, along with a screening of iconic film scenes and a live soundtrack; and the conference “Spill the Tea” to learn about Hollywood gossip.
The Caesaraugusta Forum Museum will host the Mythical Forum, a 60-minute guided tour that includes myth-telling, contemporary dance, and nymphs reading your future. The Museum of the Public Baths has scheduled a dramatized tour of the daily life of a woman in Rome, a neon makeup and Roman braiding workshop, live music, and a recital by young poets on the subject of love, freedom, and self-expression in the 21st century.
Finally, the Caesaraugusta River Port Museum will be hosting several screenings of “Whispers from Beyond,” an entertaining tour to learn about the port and discover the truth behind three mysterious deaths. All activities are free and open to the public until capacity is reached (except for the Port Museum activity, which, while free, requires prior registration).
The White Night program will also reach the city’s neighborhoods through the Civic Center Network. Specifically, there will be activities at the Teodoro Sánchez Punter Civic Center, the Montañana Multipurpose Pavilion, and the Antonio Beltrán Civic Center in Garrapinillos.
In addition, Zaragoza Tourism has scheduled off-hours activities with promotions and discounts to enjoy the Aragonese capital on day and night tourist buses, Megabus, and guided tours to explore the city through various routes and locations, in addition to other activities.
The entire program and the updated digital brochure can be found on the municipal website. In addition, 5,000 printed brochures will be distributed gradually to municipal centers and tourist offices that same week.
