Up to 275 people, including professionals and volunteers, are taking part this Wednesday in the contingent deployed to ground zero of the natural disaster that devastated everything in its path last Friday in the regions of Belchite, Daroca, and Bajo Martín. In short, as we head into the first week after the disaster, on June 18th, nearly 300 personnel, including technical personnel, volunteers, military personnel, forestry brigades, and medical personnel, are deployed in Azuara, Letux, Almonacid, and surrounding areas. Regarding the UME (Military Emergency Unit), up to 118 personnel from two UME sections (BIEM IV, based in Zaragoza, and BIEM III, based in Valencia) are deployed.
FIREFIGHTERS, CIVIL PROTECTION, RED CROSS AND 061
In addition to these, there are the Zaragoza Fire Department with five firefighters and two tanker vehicles; the DPT (Directorate-General for Public Safety) with three firefighters and three tanker vehicles; 12 volunteers, four technicians, and one logistics operator from Civil Protection (accompanied by eight vehicles and a tent). Also working in the area are two Support Unit officers, 15 Red Cross volunteers , and the 061 (National Emergency Service) with one doctor, two nurses, two ambulance technicians, and two drivers.
THE INFOAR
It is also worth noting, as reported by the Government of Aragon on Tuesday, that the Infoar (Aragon Forest Fires) operation, made up of a total of 81 personnel, has 15 ground brigades on the ground, led by their respective Nature Protection Agents ( APN ), with the support of 6 fire engines and a technician at the Advanced Command Post (PMA). The work has been focusing on cleaning and sweeping streets, as well as collecting debris in the municipalities of Letux, Azuara, Villar de los Navarros, Herrera de los Navarros and Almonacid de la Cuba .
