Beer lovers can treat themselves by tasting the best craft beers in Zaragoza. And Zaragoza is a beer city, where we make and consume beers for all tastes. Because here, we mix this versatile drink that is as good for pouring a vermouth as it is for drinking at a wedding, with Calanda peaches, we give it citrus or caramel aromas, we even dare with traditional preparations. Beers that are also within the reach of any Zaragoza resident thanks to the numerous brewpubs and breweries that populate the streets of the Aragonese capital.

THE ORDIO MINERO TABERA

Ordio Minero was born in the Mining Basins of Teruel back in 2012, becoming one of the first Spanish microbreweries. But they couldn’t just stay in their Teruel factory and with a lot of enthusiasm, paint and a few taps they opened, on Espoz y Mina street, the first brewery in Zaragoza that sells the product they make.

Almost overlooking the Pilar, La Tabierna is an extension of the factory, a meeting point between brewing masters and fans where they can share impressions and try new products. And Ordio Minero has varieties of all kinds, but perhaps the most striking is Ordio Ixo Rai!, a Pilsner beer with hops from the Czech region of Bohemia inspired by the return to the stage of the legendary Aragonese band.

CO!, Clau Revolution, Matadragon, Rebel Estiu and Skunk Diaple are the other varieties that can be purchased in packs of twelve. Beers ranging from Irish Pale Ale to Barly Wine, including the popular IPAs and with fruity, floral, smoky or caramel tones.

Noble and with soul, this is how they define their beer and their ethics at Cierzo Brewing Co. Two friends who brewed beer at home came together in this project that gave rise to a brewpub, in the heart of Zaragoza, which not only offers beer and food, but also acts as a small factory. Because the main one is in Caspe, where they make the beer that they send to places throughout Spain and Europe.

Pursuing beer excellence, at Cierzo Brewing Co they pride themselves on using local, organic and highest quality products for their brews. They manufacture varieties for all tastes and among their classic flavors are Citra and Calanda, an IPA and Double IPA respectively with fruity aromas, especially the second, which is fermented with Calanda peaches. Without forgetting some of the most iconic ones such as Tronada, a crazy mix of four different hops, and Psycho Keller (Qu’est-ce que c’est), a kellerbier made according to the traditional method. As many varieties as there are people because, according to them, there are no people who don’t like beer, but rather people who have not found their style yet.

THE MALTER

This Zaragoza brewpub is housed in the old Babieca room , next to the Goya station, and has 16 craft beer taps. Since 2018, its philosophy has been to make the best beer possible and pair it with a menu of quality specialties. In addition to their own brews, they do weekly tastings with the best national and international beers.

600-meter brewpub where everything has a place, from a small brewery to a stage where you can enjoy concerts, DJs or sporting events. All this with views of a glass-enclosed kitchen and with the company of 16 craft beer taps. Taps that have a direct route to the beer they brew on the premises to ensure the perfect beer. In addition, they have numerous national and international beer brands in constant rotation, both on tap, in bottles and in cans.

Its 15 taps in constant rotation are the main attraction of Hoppy Craft Beer House, on Casto Méndez Núñez street in Zaragoza. And when a barrel runs out it is not replaced with another of the same beer, but rather a new reference takes its place, so you never know what you are going to find when you walk through its doors. Although if you don’t like surprises, on their website they have a list of the varieties they currently serve and their waiters are always willing to offer recommendations.

But not only the taps are constantly changing, the selection of bottles also changes frequently in order to offer the latest news to customers. Thus, Hoppy brings together all of its own brewed beers and imported ones in a single location, creating a paradise for all brewers.

INTERNATIONAL CRAFT BEERS

If craft beers are your thing, but you have an international palate, in Zaragoza there are also places with the best varieties. In La Magdalena is the home of craft beer Beer Corner, where they offer the best selection of Zaragoza and international products thanks to their two refrigerators and ten rotating beer taps.

And channeling the spirit of the famous Scottish hero is the William Wallace Tavern, on Ventura Rodríguez Street. This brewery has one of the best catalogs of imported and craft beers. You can travel to almost every corner of the world with any of the beers they offer. In addition, they hold presentations of new beers and ” meet the brewer ” events where you can chat with renowned professional brewers. A small community where everything revolves around beer because, in true William Wallace style, they can take our lives, but they will never take our beer.
