Hearts, clouds, stripes and flowers on a background of a thousand colors (yes, all except black). The creative universe of Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada exploded this Wednesday in the Patio de la Infanta in Zaragoza with an exhibition of almost 60 of the dresses, suits, shirts and bags designed by the artist between 1984 and 2022 that can be seen until 28 of July. Most of these pieces come from the private collection of Aragonese Piluca Beltrán, one of Ruiz de la Prada’s greatest followers, and others are from the designer’s own Foundation.

That is why it is a “very special” exhibition, as the designer herself confessed. “I have done many things throughout cities and countries and I was already starting to get bored because it was all very jack, horse and king. It had always been my dream to do an exhibition about someone, dedicated to a person and Piluca from the beginning has been very important for me. I met her as a client and 95% of her went ‘agathized’ to weddings and in her daily life she always wore something of mine,” acknowledged Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada.

In the exhibition you can see everything from the design he made exclusively for Piluca for his Golden Anniversary to others as outstanding as the one that served as a tribute to the artist Mark Rothko or some that have shown at Osaka Fashion Week, in Paris or in the Museum of Modern Art in the French capital. There is also a skirt designed for the Barcelona Comic Fair and bags from different collections.

“I am not able to choose any of the Ágatha pieces that I have because I love them all. I have always liked fashion, but not a fashion for the sake of following fashion but one that is a little different. I remember that the first time I heard about It was because of a friend who told me: ‘You’re going to die of envy because look at what outfit I have’. From there, I started buying and I loved her designs,” explained the Aragonese woman in the Patio de la Infanta.

In an exhibition that is more of a tribute, a catalog has also been published in which you can see photographs of Piluca wearing each of those designs over four decades. “Piluca is not only a client but she is one of my best friends. In fact, most of my best friends are from Zaragoza. She is the godmother of my daughter Cosima and has always been with me in the most important moments,” he said. recognized the designer.

This is the first time that Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada exhibits in Zaragoza, despite the fact that it is a city that has always accompanied her in her meteoric career. “She is a brilliant person who has more than 400 patents and who makes the entire creative universe her own. She is one of our most emblematic designers who brightens a sad world with her creation and whose works have reached all parts of the world,” has recognized the curator of the exhibition, Marisa Oropesa.
