Forestalia and the Chinese company CGE have signed an agreement this Thursday for the creation of the largest industrial self-consumption system in Spain , with an initial investment that amounts to 1,000 million . Both companies have committed to installing a 700MW green platform, expandable to 1,000MW.
The first phase of the project will be built between 2025 and 2026, with the goal of completion in 2027-2028. The permits required for the project are already in the advanced approval phase , including those related to the environmental impact of the initiative, which is favorable.
The agreement has been signed by Fernando Samper García, CEO of Wind and Solar Development at Forestalia, and Cui Can, Head of CGE International, within the framework of the Sella Forum that is being held in Villanueva de Gállego. The signing ceremony was chaired by the president of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón.
This project, among other issues, will favor the attraction of companies in Aragon thanks to the promotion of industrial self-consumption, in addition to guaranteeing the hybridization of wind, photovoltaic and battery energy in the Community. This last factor, also, is something unprecedented in the territory.
