The board of directors of Endesa has approved the appointment of María Lacasa from Huesca as the new general director of Communication, replacing Ignacio Jiménez Soler, who joined the company at the beginning of 2020 and from now on takes on new professional challenges.

With more than 23 years of experience in the field of communication and marketing, María Lacasa has played a crucial role in Endesa ‘s strategy. Since 2014, she has been Director of Brand, Sponsorship and Content , leading key initiatives in the brand and communication strategy. In addition, she has directed the strategy and activation of sports , cultural and institutional sponsorships. Of note is the sponsorship of the Spanish basketball league, the Liga Endesa, in which the company has been present for 14 years, and which has become a benchmark due to the success of its implementation, as well as Endesa ‘s commitment to strengthening its positioning as a promoter of climate-conscious musical events, accelerating the decarbonisation process of the sector. In addition, she has managed the communication portfolio within an Agile framework.

Graduated in Economics and Business Sciences from the Pontifical University of Comillas ( Icade ), she has developed a large part of her professional career at Endesa , holding various positions of responsibility for more than two decades. Her career began in 2001 at the Endesa marketing company, as head of commercial planning and market research, in the first years of the liberalization of the energy market, at which time the energy company developed its commercial strategy. At the end of 2009, he joined the communications department as head of strategy and studies until 2013. During those years, he also took part in international Enel projects, launched with the aim of unifying the organizational structures and procedures of all companies. of the group.

Between January 2013 and December 2014, she was responsible for communications and CSR management, taking charge of Endesa’s corporate communications strategy (advertising, sponsorship, events, internal communications and CSR). She also assumed responsibility for Endesa’s internal communications for two years and, from 2016, she once again linked her professional development to brand strategy and activation.

The new general director of communications at Endesa also has three years of experience outside the company as head of consulting projects at Bufete de Marketing, a Spanish company specializing in marketing consulting.

Born in Huesca in 1975, Lacasa has completed the energy leadership program at IESE Business School; The Power MBA program, focused on business administration and management; and the organizational leadership program at Bocconi University , the first Italian university to award a degree in economics.
