The province of Zaragoza hosts the sixth edition of the “Cierzo Rally” on July 5 and 6 . This is the fourth round of the Spanish All-Terrain Rally Championship . Nearly 100 participants worldwide will compete in the event, for some it will be a rehearsal for the 2025 Dakar Rally . The land army collaborates in the test, giving up the 157 kilometers of section within the San Gregorio Maneuver Field , the largest in Spain.
Zaragoza is preparing for the sixth edition of the “Cierzo Rally” that will be held on July 5 and 6, where some of the most important drivers in the 4×4 world modality will meet. A total of 440 kilometers divided into a prologue stage and three timed tests that will cross the municipalities of Cuarte, Cadrete, María de Huerva, Alfajarín and Villamayor . The championship will count toward the national all-terrain championship.
The president of the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, Manuel Aviñó , was present at the presentation of the event. Aviñó mentioned the “good relationship” that Aragon has with the world of motorsports.
The Councilor for Sports, Felix Brocate , was also present , confirming that “Zaragoza will facilitate everything necessary” so that the organization of the test can be carried out completely normally. On Friday the 5th, administrative and mechanical verifications will begin in the Mobility City of the Expo Zone to be able to participate in the race.
The participants will head to the municipality of Cadrete , where the closed park is located . The prologue stage will then begin , heading to the town of María de Huerva, with a total of six kilometres of the stage. At the end of the day, the Plaza del Pilar will host the official presentation of drivers and vehicles.
Saturday will be the day of “real fire”. The Campo de Manoeuvres de San Gregorio will be the place where the first stage of 157 timed kilometres will take place . The pilots will have to deal with the toughness of the circuit, the difficulty of navigation and the high amount of dust during the section. The second stage of the race links the municipalities of Alfajarín and Villamayor with a total of 127 kilometres . The pilots will return to Alfajarín again to cover the Monegros stage again and thus complete the 440 kilometres of the race.
It is worth noting that the San Gregorio training ground is the training ground for drivers Nani Roma and Carlos Sainz , who will be teammates at the wheel of the Ford Ranger . The two drivers who won the toughest motorsport event, the Dakar Rally , will not be present at the event as the car is still in the process phase, preparing for the Dakar 2025.
