Travelers passing through Montpellier Saint Roch station from 16 September will be able to discover the attractions that Zaragoza has to offer, thanks to a promotional campaign that will be projected on the twenty digital mupis of this space, with the aim of attracting French tourists to the city. Specifically, and for fourteen days, a ten-second video of the Aragonese capital will be projected, in rotation with other advertisers, which will be seen by more than two million passers-by , according to the estimated reach given the large influx of public at this station.
Furthermore, between 21 and 25 September, an information point with two counters will be set up at the station , where information will be provided to users between 9:00 and 19:00. In addition, a raffle will be held with a prize of a stay in the city of Zaragoza and round-trip train tickets from Montpellier to Zaragoza in collaboration with Renfe.
AN INFORMATION POINT WILL BE PLACED AT THE MONTPELLIER INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
On the other hand, between 26 and 29 September, an information point will be set up at the Montpellier International Travel and Adventure Film Festival ‘What a trip festival’. This event includes, in addition to various animations, food trucks, exhibitions and screenings, a ‘Village du Voyage’ in the centre of the city of Montpellier (Promenade du Peyrou) where companies, travel agencies and various tourist offices from the South of France will participate, and where the stand of the Aragonese capital will be set up.
Another raffle will also be held at this information point, with the prize of a stay in Zaragoza and round-trip train tickets from Montpellier to Zaragoza in collaboration with Renfe. Last year’s edition saw 45,000 people attend the festival. Campaigns have also been scheduled on social media and in newspapers and digital magazines of the Le Figaro group in Montpellier, Marseille and Toulouse.
These measures are part of the promotion that the City Council, through Zaragoza Tourism, carries out in the cities of southern France, taking advantage of the proximity and the rail connection. Precisely, tourists from the neighbouring country occupy the first place in the ranking of international travellers who come to Zaragoza. Last year, a total of 55,965 French people visited the city, which represents 17% of foreign tourists, and they stayed 89,675 nights. The majority of French people come from the Occitanie region (28%), from Pau and Bordeaux (24%) and from the area around Marseille (6%), according to data from enquiries made at tourist offices.
