The Government Council approved this Friday the Declaration of Autonomous Interest for the construction of the new industrial plant of the company Instalaza and for the advancement of research and development projects of new technologies in the defense sector by the Zaragoza company.
The project, as specified in the file itself, consists of the creation and expansion of a new industrial plant in Zaragoza, designed to meet the current and future demands of the defense sector. To achieve this, they are considering an investment of 52 million euros and will mean the creation of between 100 and 120 direct jobs.
According to the plans of the company founded in 1943 in Zaragoza and which is a reference in the defence sector, the actions will be undertaken in two phases in order to meet current and future demands. In the first phase, the capacity to design and manufacture missile systems and subsystems will be deepened, and then, in the second phase, the capacity to manufacture other solid propellants will be focused on.
More specifically, the planned actions include investment in R&D for missile technologies, the expansion of infrastructure to produce subsystems for missiles and other munitions, the start-up of a pilot plant for the manufacture of composite propellants and cast-cured explosives, the construction and start-up of a high-capacity industrial plant for these same propellants, and the creation of new central offices and the industrial plant for inert material.
The year planned by Instalaza to complete the entire project, which began to materialize in 2023, is 2027.
