The Government of Aragon has activated the Territorial Emergency Plan (Platear) in response to the blackout that has affected all of Spain, according to sources from the DGA (General Directorate of General Administration of Aragon ). Initially in phase 1, it was elevated to level 2 just after 2:30 p.m., which allows for the use of resources from the general state administration. The Cecop (Cecop) has also been mobilized to continue monitoring the emergency. An initial meeting was held at 2:00 p.m., and another is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
For the time being, and given the urgency of facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes , generators have been put into operation in hospitals , a tool that allows essential activities to be maintained, such as ongoing surgical procedures, maintenance of ICUs, or maintenance of ventilation systems in isolation areas.
Some centers have decided to suspend non-urgent surgeries, while others have decided to suspend operations scheduled for the afternoon. Primary care is currently limited to emergency services . The appropriate crisis plans have been activated in each center.
For its part, Zaragoza City Council has convened a crisis team, chaired by Mayor Natalia Chueca . The local police have been deployed to regulate traffic and ensure road safety, while the fire department is responding to calls and incidents, particularly involving people trapped in elevators. Public transportation is available except for the tram.
According to Renfe, various trains are currently stopped at stations. Zaragoza Delicias is already experiencing a delay of more than an hour on the Madrid-Barcelona line. In Aragon, a conventional train has been held up at Luceni, and two AVE trains are stopped at Plascencia de Jalón.
INCIDENTS
According to the DGA, there have been 26 rescues in elevators , and two people have required oxygen . Meanwhile, the Miraflores Hospital has required diesel fuel.
