Aragon’s presence at the international Transport Logistics trade fair in Munich continues to bear fruit. The Aragon Logistics Platform (APL), headed by its president, Octavio López, the Minister of Public Works in the Aragon Regional Government, is maintaining a busy schedule of meetings with European companies in the sector to further position the region as a strategic hub in the south of the continent. After two days of institutional activity, the Aragon stand continues to be a focal point for operators, service companies, and transport innovators.
One of the most notable meetings was with the German multinational Dachser, which is building its new distribution center in Plaza Mayor with an investment of €14 million. Part of this infrastructure will replicate the model that APL was able to visit recently in Munich. The manager of the public company, Pedro Sas, toured the German company’s smart warehouse, where the @ILO system is used, a technology based on digital twins, artificial intelligence, and complete merchandise traceability.
“This is an incentive for more global companies to establish operations in Zaragoza, as it improves production and shipping capacity and minimizes errors“, said Dachser Germany. The Aragonese logistics center will begin operations in October.
KEY ROLE IN EUROPEAN NETWORKS
APL also participated in the Europlatforms assembly, the European association of logistics platforms, to which it is a member through the Association of Transport and Logistics Centers of Spain (ACTE). This forum addressed strategies to further promote the role of the Zaragoza-Madrid-Valencia logistics axis within the European corridors.
LOGISTICS KNOWLEDGE FOCUS
At the same time, the APL stand is also serving as the base of operations for the Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) team , which had a prominent participation in the fair’s conference series with a presentation focused on logistics resilience, a key issue in times of global disruption. The talk drew dozens of attendees, consolidating the Aragonese institution as a benchmark in training and knowledge.
ZLC was also present at the meeting of the Alliance for Logistics Innovation, a body co-financed by the European Union that advises the European Commission on applied research in the sector.
