Zaragoza continues to strengthen its role as a strategic city in trade relations with China. Reflecting this growing interest, a delegation from the Chinese Juneyao Group, one of Shanghai’s most important business conglomerates, visited the Aragonese capital. The delegation was received at Zaragoza City Hall by Mayor Natalia Chueca, who held an institutional meeting with the CEO of Juneyao Group, GAO Binghua. During the meeting, the Chinese leader expressed his desire to strengthen ties with the Aragonese business community and explore new avenues for collaboration.
The visit comes two months after the mayor led an institutional and business mission to several Chinese cities, including Shanghai, in February . On that occasion, Chueca participated in the “Dialogue with Zaragoza+” forum , organized by the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce, where more than 100 Chinese businesspeople expressed interest in establishing ties with Europe. It was there that direct contact with the Juneyao Group began, which has now materialized with this new approach in Zaragoza.
The Chinese delegation, in addition to being led by GAO Binghua, included senior executives from various divisions of the group and enjoyed the collaboration of the Zeumat Group, an Aragonese company that played a key role in facilitating dialogue between the two parties. At the meeting, representatives from Juneyao expressed their satisfaction with the city’s business, logistical, and economic environment, highlighting its attractiveness as a platform for international expansion.

GAO Binghua highly praised his visit to Zaragoza, highlighting the city’s dynamism and opportunities. “Zaragoza represents an excellent gateway to the European market, and we are confident in developing long-term relationships with local partners,” he stated, also emphasizing his gratitude for the institutional welcome he received and the willingness to collaborate shown by the local authorities.
Natalia Chueca, for her part, thanked the business group for their interest and emphasized that this visit reflects Zaragoza’s growing appeal to leading companies in strategic sectors. “It’s a source of satisfaction that groups like Juneyao see our city’s potential to establish themselves in Europe. At City Hall, we are committed to facilitating investment, fostering collaboration, and creating employment opportunities,” the mayor stated.
During their stay, the delegation also visited various business and logistics centers in the city, showing particular interest in the infrastructure that connects Zaragoza to the main European corridors. The Juneyao Group, founded in 1991, has an annual turnover of nearly €9 billion and employs nearly 20,000 people in sectors such as aviation, finance, technology, and education.
