Thousands of families have once again chosen campsites as their accommodation for the summer holidays. According to the Spanish Federation of Campsites (FEEC), the forecast for this summer period is “ extraordinary ” and in Aragon it is expected that the occupancy rate will exceed 90% , a figure that will be repeated in all the autonomous communities .
As a first estimate , the average stay will be 7 days with an average daily expenditure per family of between 180 and 220 euros and, furthermore, contrary to what is usual in the sector, with last-minute reservations, 60% of them were made before Easter .
As FEEC has warned, July has already registered 80% of reservations and August 95%. “Finding a free bungalow in August is starting to be very complicated and it is difficult to find plots for motorhomes , campers and caravans ,” they have stressed.
The figures for this are expected to be surpassed last summer. The Federation has estimated that in 2023 there will be more than 6.3 million travellers and 30 million overnight stays nationwide .
