Numerous sporting, musical and gastronomic activities will form a unique and fun spectacle in the new ski season directed by Aramón. The 20 million invested are mainly directed towards improving snow, but the rest of the events create unique leisure time in the mountains and in the main employment engine of the area. Thus, more than a million visitors will fill the Aragonese company’s resorts from this coming weekend.
Thus, from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th December, the Formigal and Cerler resorts, belonging to the Aramón Group, will kick off the new season. Meanwhile, the Panticosa and Valdelinares slopes will be available from Saturday. And the one that will have to wait until Christmas will be Javalambre, in conditions that are not yet favourable.
Aramón ‘s executive director, Antonio Gericó, presented the new season’s developments at the resorts to which the company belongs this Tuesday at Ibercaja Xplora. He said that they are “optimistic”, especially in view of Christmas. “We are opening with very good conditions and we expect 1,100,000 visitors ,” he announced. At this time, the Javalambre resort is expected to be available.
For its part, Alamón has carried out a transformation exercise that has led it to become a “very compact and first-class” leisure model, Gericó said. A complex process, after difficult times, especially in the 80s and 90s, but the Government’s commitment ended up bearing fruit. “It is a key sector in the economy where we operate,” the director acknowledged.
The snow plan also includes important advances in sustainability, given that all the improvements have been made using 100% renewable and solar energy. However, sport is the fundamental pillar of the Aramón Group with a focus on both beginners and high-level athletes.
In addition, Gericó has emphasised the music scene, which continues to be one of the company’s hallmarks. Among these activities, the 15th anniversary of Marchica stands out , followed by the 60th birthday of Formigal, which will celebrate different special events. Specifically, in February all the ‘djs’ of Aramón will meet. In addition, the director has warned that there will be the Marchica spirit outside the Pyrenean area, after the success it has brought in recent years.
He also stressed the importance of the loyalty card, which provides information on the time you have left to ski, covers any mishaps, gets to know the person and offers discounts. At the same time, it offers quality instruction praised by the more than 500 instructors trained by Aramón, where if you buy the ski pass, free ski instruction is provided to those who do not know where to start.
Finally, Gericó has reported that during the next 3-4 years (complete plan) an investment of 60 million euros is expected . Of these, almost 70% is directed towards the ski pass, while around 30% will be distributed to the rest of the activities. Thus, through these 1,100,000 visitors they hope to recover and even make a profit on the total investment.
