More and more activities are being announced for the 2025 Fiestas del Pilar. One of the offerings coming to Zaragoza is one of the most famous and beloved musicals. The songs are unforgettable anthems, and the story effortlessly blends comedy and emotion. It’s none other than the musical “Mamma Mia!”, which is stopping in the Aragonese capital on its tour of Spain.
The Palacio de Congresos will host four days of performances featuring covers of ABBA songs and a retelling of the story of Donna and Sophie. Tickets are now on sale on the musical’s website, which will remain in Zaragoza from October 2 to 5 after three years of success in Madrid, where it has already been applauded by more than 800,000 spectators.
The new version of “Mamma Mia!” features original staging, costumes, and choreography, along with updated lyrics and musical arrangements. On stage, Donna, Tania, Rossie, Sophie, Sky, the “three possible fathers,” and the 27 cast members tell one of the most entertaining and endearing musical stories of all time.
The music is based on ABBA’s greatest hits, as it is the first musical based on the songs of a band. Since its premiere, it has been translated into more than fifteen languages, and more than 70 million viewers have enjoyed the show’s live music.
The musical’s tour will cover much of Spain, while the Swedish group’s songs continue to be played. “Dancing Queen,” “Voluez Vous,” “SOS,” “Super Trouper,” “Thank You for the Music,” and “Gimme Gimme Gimme” are just a few examples of their songs that have become worldwide hits. With more than 400 million records sold, their popularity is undeniable, and around 4,000 of the group’s albums are sold every day around the world.
This blockbuster is produced by ATG Entertainment , who are responsible for hits such as “Matilda”, “Billy Elliot”, “Grease”, “Priscilla”, “West Side Story” and “Cabaret”.
