Tourism in Aragon has registered positive figures this January. In all three provinces, both the number of visitors and overnight stays have increased compared to the same month last year , according to the National Statistics Institute’s hotel occupancy survey published this Tuesday. Furthermore, the survey indicates that the largest increase in Spain’s Hotel Price Index occurred in our autonomous community (9.7%).

186,324 people have visited our autonomous community, 5,000 more than in January 2015 , staying an average of 2.16 nights in Aragonese hotels. Domestic tourism accounts for a large part of the visits, but the 30,204 foreign visitors represent a significant percentage: 16%.

The province of Huesca receives a large number of visitors from Madrid (28.8%), followed by those from Aragon (19%), with Catalonia, the Basque Country, and the Valencian Community in second place, all around 10%. This month, the Aragonese Pyrenees have received 57,130 visitors, and Benasque 11,593 .
