On a new trade mission, almost against the clock, like the one carried out in China last February, the mayor of
Zaragoza , Natalia Chueca, is on a new trip this week, this time to the United States, which aims to strengthen the international positioning of the Aragonese capital in the world. To this end, Chueca has planned a total of 20 key meetings with leaders in technology, tourism, and sustainability.
This Monday, Chueca is already in San Francisco, where she will meet with Microsoft and a company that manufactures supplies for technology companies. To conclude the day, the mayor will have dinner with other Zaragoza executives in Silicon Valley, including some from HP and Nvidia FG.
On Tuesday, he will be present at the Google conference, where he will participate in a panel discussing the application of Artificial Intelligence in cities. This event will continue until Wednesday, the second day of the conference, when he will hold meetings with experts in technologies and artificial intelligence applicable to local governments.
She will then meet with Spanish executives in Silicon Valley as part of a sustainability forum, which will include a senior executive from Salesforce, one of the global leaders in sustainability.
TRIP TO MIAMI
With the premise that “work never stops when it comes to the future of Zaragoza,” Chueca, who will travel a total of 21,410 kilometers , will travel to Miami on Thursday, where he will have a reception with his counterpart, the mayor of Miami-Dade County. He will also attend a meeting with representatives of public universities.
Later on Thursday afternoon, the councilor will participate in a business meeting organized by the Spanish-American Chamber of Commerce. There will be a reception at the Consul General’s home, where networking will take place with Aragonese companies and representatives of the tourism sector.
Finally, another investment forum, Zaragoza-Miami, will be held on Friday , where Chueca is expected to speak. The objective will be to showcase the Aragonese capital as a gateway for American companies to Europe. There will also be a meeting with a university and a final reception with the Mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez.
COMPANIES PARTICIPATING IN THE TRIP
The mayor of Zaragoza, in any case, did not travel alone. In addition to the Minister of Economy, Carlos Gimeno, other leading companies in Aragon are participating: Enerland Group, Podoactiva, TMZ, Imascono, BTS, and Hiberus.
In addition, tourism manager José Francisco García also traveled to Miami to meet with tourism companies and tour operators. His meetings, in this case, will focus heavily on Zaragoza’s potential as a religious tourism destination, thanks to the Basilica of El Pilar, the most visited cathedral in Spain with more than five million visitors per year.
