Castrillo has once again done what seemed impossible. The 23-year-old cyclist from Jaca, Pablo Castrillo, has won the queen stage of La Vuelta a España, three days after his emotional display at the Manzaneda Mountain Station. On this occasion he has overcome the 142.9 kilometres of the 15th Stage, starting from the Asturian town of Infiesto and reaching Valgrande-Pajares.
The young Aragonese has once again shown his climbing potential on the toughest slopes of the Asturian giant, where he managed to beat his breakaway companions Aleksandr Vlasov (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) and Pavel Sivakov (UAE Team Emirates) to take victory.
A day that the man from Jaca will remember, but also his team, Kern Pharma, who are still unaware of the Aragonese’s exploits, as they have expressed on the social network X.

In purely sporting terms, Castrillo did not hesitate to launch a powerful attack 3 kilometres from the finish, on the hardest slopes of the climb to Cuitu Negru after passing the Valgrande-Pajares Station, and he was able to keep up a pulse with Aleksandr Vlasov on the explosive slopes of more than 24% to achieve his second stage victory in just three days.
After winning, the Jaca native burst into tears of emotion at the finish line while receiving congratulations from other runners and his own team.
