Zaragoza Airport has closed October with a “historic” cargo record. Last month was the month with the highest commercial cargo traffic with 21,000 tons transported, which represents a growth of 52.7% compared to the same month in 2023.
Passenger and operation figures also increased. Specifically, Zaragoza Airport recorded 61,961 passengers (+3.8%) and 991 landing and take-off movements (+14%) in October. Among commercial passengers, international passengers were the most numerous, with 40,247 (+12.1%), while 21,512 people (-5.5%) travelled to or from a Spanish city.
The airport served 991 flights in October, of which 877 were commercial, representing an increase of 25.8% compared to the same month in 2023. Of these, 646 were international operations (+29.2%) and 231 were domestic (17.3%).
In terms of cumulative data, in the first ten months of 2024, cargo facilities have registered 147,163 tonnes, 40.7% more than in the same period in 2023. The number of passengers reached 591,270 travellers (-0.6%) who travelled on 8,634 flights (4.6%).
AENA GROUP AIRPORTS
The airports of the Aena Group (composed of 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London-Luton Airport and 17 airports in Brazil) closed the tenth month of 2024 with 33,587,444 passengers, 6.1% more than in the same month of 2023, managed 283,592 aircraft movements, 4.9% more than in 2023 and transported 137,308 tonnes of merchandise, 22.7% more than last year.
