A unique laboratory is being built in Huesca: this will be the Podoactiva Sportech laboratory

It will be ready in the last quarter of 2025 and the Alto Aragon company is investing more than one million euros.

Podoactiva , with more than two decades of history, has built its business model through  innovation and excellence in Alto Aragón. The perfect example is the Alto Aragón company’s latest project:
Podoactiva Sportech , a laboratory unique in the world thanks to its cutting-edge technology and expected to be completed before the end of the year. The investment is more than one million euros.

This infrastructure, which began construction in the Walqa Technology Park (Huesca) before Easter and whose patent is owned by the company run by the Alfaro brothers, incorporates technology for analyzing an athlete’s biomechanics in real-life game situations . In other words, it will consist of a series of state-of-the-art, fully sensorized surfaces to accurately capture all the details surrounding the athlete’s performance and footfall in their natural habitat.

“We needed to be able to simulate real-life situations like those that occur in the real game. That didn’t exist until now, and we’re really excited about it. We’ve even had an engineer live in Huesca just for this project. We’ve been working on it for years,” Javier Alfaro , co-founder and technical director of Podoactiva, explained in an interview with this outlet.

5,000 SQUARE METERS AND DIFFERENT SPORTS

The facility, located between the two buildings that house Podoactiva’s headquarters in Walqa, is being built on a 5,000-square-meter site . When completed, it will consist of a 7-a-side football pitch, a paddle tennis court, a 3×3 basketball court, and an athletics track . “It has a series of kinetic and kinematic technologies. Kinetic technologies measure force with underground sensors, and kinematic technologies measure different types of inertial systems. This will put Huesca at the center of biomechanics,” Alfaro stated.

All this at a time when Podoactiva is working hard to expand its markets and open new borders . Without going any further, they are investing heavily in the United States. However, the brand remains Alto Aragonian, and the Alfaros are clear about this. “ We’re from Huesca, and we like it. I also firmly believe that Walqa is a wonderful place from which you can reach any corner of the world ”, Javier Alfaro asserted.
