The mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, held a key meeting with the CEO of Gruve.ai, Tarun Raisoni, at the company’s headquarters in Silicon Valley. The meeting was part of the mayor’s institutional trip to the United States to attract technology investment to the Aragonese capital.
During the meeting, the CEO of Gruve.ai expressed his interest in Zaragoza as a possible location for its first operational base in Europe. The company, which specializes in data center infrastructure and artificial intelligence, positively valued the city’s local ecosystem, available talent, and logistical connections.
ZARAGOZA AS A STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENT FOR TECHNOLOGICAL EXPANSION
Chueca was accompanied by the Municipal Councilor for Economy, Carlos Gimeno, and the two discussed the strategic advantages that Zaragoza offers as a technological hub in Southern Europe. The city has thus strengthened its profile as an attractive destination for companies in the digital sector.
Gruve.ai, founded in 2024, has raised nearly €35 million in its first round of funding and has received backing from Cisco Systems. The company has grown rapidly and consolidated its presence in the US, India, South Korea, Dubai, and Singapore.
The meeting with the mayor went from being an exploratory meeting to the start of concrete discussions about a possible implementation in the Aragonese capital. Gruve.ai has confirmed that it will visit Zaragoza soon to continue advancing along this path.
Zaragoza’s auxiliary industry is key to data centers
The American technology company has shown particular interest in the existing auxiliary industry in Aragon , which could facilitate the local production of server components. This type of equipment has a useful life of about five years, opening the door to the creation of stable, specialized employment.
Zaragoza has offered Gruve.ai an ideal environment, both due to its geographic location and its maturity in innovation, sustainability, and digitalization. The City Council has argued that the city is ready to host major industrial projects linked to artificial intelligence.
The mayor emphasized that “Zaragoza has positioned itself as an emerging leader in the European technology sector” and assured that her government “will continue working to attract opportunities that generate skilled employment and economic development.”
With this initiative, the Aragonese capital has strengthened its presence on the international agenda of the technology sector and taken a new step in its strategy to position itself as a leading city in innovation and digitalization in Southern Europe.
