Zaragoza is strengthening its international strategy with a promotional campaign in Miami aimed at attracting American tourists, whose interest in the Aragonese capital has steadily grown in recent years. The city is currently showcasing its artistic, cultural, religious, and wine heritage as a key destination on its routes through Spain and Europe. This initiative is part of a broader trade mission to the United States, led by Mayor Natalia Chueca, along with local business leaders and institutional representatives.

Zaragoza Tourism‘s manager, José Francisco García, joined the trip in its final stretch. He has begun a series of meetings with Miami tour operators and travel agents to include Zaragoza in their catalogs and platforms. The goal is to position the city as an attractive destination, ready for the most demanding tourists, with a high-quality offering and premium experiences, from cultural visits to wine and religious tourism.

Highlights of this international promotion include the Basilica of El PilarGoya’s legacy, and the “World Garnacha Capital” project. In addition, heritage and religious routes are being presented, such as those linked to the Marian Ways, which are attracting increasing interest among North American travelers. “Visitors from the United States leave a significant added value and reinforce our image as an international city,” García emphasized.

During its stay in Miami, Zaragoza Tourism has established contact with key players in the sector. Among them is Javier Pérez, director of the World Travel Expo (WTE Miami), who is already working to include Zaragoza as a benchmark in its offering of new destinations for the Florida market. Meetings have also been held with Express Travel, one of the most influential agencies, which is already preparing a new group of tourists with a one-night stay in Zaragoza and is considering including educational tourism proposals.

The agenda also included a meeting with Paradise a la Carte, an agency specializing in high-impact tourism. This operator has already begun working with Zaragoza as a destination for premium clients, including the city on its platforms with customized cultural getaways. Furthermore, Zaragoza will be the guest city at its upcoming charity event in Miami, a recognition that until now had only been achieved by Malaga.

The promotion of religious tourism was also present in this mission, with a meeting with Father José Luis Menéndez of the Corpus Christi Church in Miami to showcase Zaragoza’s spiritual heritage. Finally, the manager of Zaragoza Tourism met with the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Travel Agents, with the goal of opening new avenues of collaboration and increasing the city’s presence on tourist circuits in the North American market.
