The solar eclipse on August 12th is just around the corner, and it’s time for those interested to decide where they will view this natural phenomenon. The Zaragoza City Council will set up a caravan area at the Valdespartera Fairgrounds for the total solar eclipse on August 12th. This Friday, a website (www.zaragoza.es/zaragoza-eclipse) was launched to reserve a space in this free parking area for caravans, motorhomes, or approved campervans.

The space, specially prepared to accommodate those traveling to the city by caravan on August 12, will have a maximum capacity of 1,300 spaces and will remain enclosed and monitored throughout the opening period. The aim is to offer a safe, organized, and comfortable place for attendees who choose Zaragoza as their destination to enjoy this exceptional astronomical event.

Reservations can now be made through the aforementioned website, available in Spanish, English, and French. Once interested parties enter the identification details of the owner and the vehicle , the application will generate a personalized QR code that must be validated both upon entry and exit.

This QR code will enhance security and access control by allowing real-time tracking of vehicles inside the venue, simplifying management and ensuring greater control during peak days. Venue staff will be responsible for locating each vehicle.

14 PARKING AREAS

The fairgrounds will be divided into 14 parking zones to facilitate organization, and an area will also be set up for viewing the eclipse. Vehicles can park from 10:00 a.m. on August 10th until 8:00 p.m. on August 13th. Parking will be permitted during these days, but camping will not.

Entry to the venue will be via the intersection of “Salomón” and “Reina de Saba” streets with “Centauros del Desierto” street , and exit will be via the intersection of “Centauros del Desierto” street with “Casablanca” avenue. Both the entrance and exit will have security personnel to control vehicle access, allowing vehicles to enter and exit the venue during those days.

Once the reservation is made, registered attendees can download a brochure from the website with useful information : fairground services, nearby public services, rules and recommendations, a map of the grounds, emergency telephone number, etc. In addition to parking, the designated area will have public drinking fountains, four restroom areas plus one shower area, security and support staff, medical assistance, fire prevention personnel, and a wastewater disposal area.
